What's Up In Riverside Art?
Students are off to a great 2007 in art at Riverside
By Dorothy Brueck
Every Tuesday staff volunteer time for the after school art program.
This month we are working on Clay Falcons. We have 28 participants for
this session. This is a full house in the little Octagon Art Room. We
are only running one night as it is too much on the volunteers to handle
two. Again, we had to turn away students who wanted to participate.
The session was filled within the first hour..
Seven pieces were sent to the VSA Juried Competition in Detroit. All
seven were accepted and will compete for the two spots in Washington DC.
Last year we had Marcus Short from Christa Conroy's class represent
Riverside/Constantine in Washington DC. It would be amazing if we could
get another this year. This is the second year we have participated in
this show. I do not know how many articipants entered this year. I
will let you know as I hear more info. The following students
participating this year are as follows:
Edward Miller
Dylan Nash
Robert Schwartz
Krystal Stanton
Kristina Wortinger
Katie Wagner
Justin Hull
We are gearing up for the MAEA (Michigan Art Education Association)
Juried Regional Show to be held in Buchanan, Michigan. Five student
pieces have been selected and will be taken to Mount Pleasant his
weekend. The following students will represent Riverside/Constantine:
