News From The Cafeterias
March 28, 2006
Dear Constantine School Parents:
We have exciting news from the lunch line! With advancements in technology, our lunch program has eliminated the use of rosters at the Middle School and High School and made the move to the student I.D. numbers for the purchase of daily lunch. Beginning April 12, we will be using a new computerized cash register/data processing system in the Food Service Department. Each Middle School and High School student will receive an I.D. number. Just as they have stated their name in the past, all students must punch in their number when purchasing food. Personal account numbers will be confirmed when your child’s school photo appears on the register screen.
This improved system will allow you to send one check for prepayment of all your students’ school meals, rather than one check for each student. Credit can be applied toward your child’s personal account in the monetary figure of your choice. The money may be divided evenly, or in the proportion of your choosing, among your children. Once divided, no child can have access to a sibling’s share of the money. The cost of a daily lunch will remain at $1.60 at the Elementary Schools and $1.75 at the Middle School and High School. There will be no cash given back on a daily basis.
The system also allows notes to be displayed for the cashier’s information. If your child suffers from a medical condition that restricts his/her dietary intake, (lactose intolerance or diabetes, for example), please notify the Food Service Department. We can then help you to monitor your child’s diet.
We are pleased with the improvement brought about by the new technology in our Food Service Department. If you have any questions about the new Food Service system, please call me at (269) 435-8909.
Sincerely,
Diane Northrup
