I’d like to welcome everyone to Constantine Public Schools! The beginning of a school year always brings a sense of anticipation and excitement that make it a special time. A special welcome goes out to all of our kindergarten students and parents. We’ll do everything possible to ensure that the students get off to a great start!
We have many new things happening this year, such as;
- This will be the first year the District will have a parent notification system in place. We plan on having the system operational by the middle of September. In the event of a school closing, the system will call everyone in the District within 15 minutes. As we get better at using the system, individual groups such as band, athletic teams, etc… will be able to use the system to communicate messages to parents.
- This will be the first year that Constantine will participate in the Kalamazoo Valley Athletic Association. Our students will compete against Schoolcraft, Maple Valley, Olivet, Kalamazoo Christian, Kalamazoo Hackett, Galesburg-Augusta, Parchment, Delton and Battle Creek Pennfield. Good luck to all of our student-athletes as they step up to the new league.
- I’d like to encourage all of our students to find something that interests them and participate! Studies show that students who participate in extra-curricular activities such as band, choir, science teams or athletic teams, do better in school.
- New staff members this year include; Lindsey Colville - Middle School Special Education, Mandy Niblock – Kindergarten, Ashley Warnement – Kindergarten, Tom Muckel – Maintenance Supervisor and Rhonda King – Transportation Supervisor.
This year the District is making a concentrated effort to find every student that qualifies for free & reduced lunch. Last year the percentage of students in the District receiving free or reduced lunch was 47%. If the District reaches the 50% mark we’ll be able to provide free lunch to all students during the summer months.
The School Board and Administration have been discussing goals for the year. Below you’ll find a working document of the goals the District will be striving to achieve this year.
We look forward to working with you and your students. We value your input and encourage you to communicate with the building administration and teaching staff throughout the year!
